VicGrid has launched the Victorian Government’s draft Victorian Transmission Plan Guidelines, a document that explains how we will prepare the Victorian Transmission Plan – a new long-term strategic plan for renewable energy and transmission development in our State.
The draft Victorian Transmission Plan Guidelines outline how we will determine how much renewable energy generation is needed and when, as well as how we will determine what transmission projects are needed to support that new generation.
It also includes a study area (a map) showing what parts of Victoria we may investigate further for suitability to host future renewable energy zones.
We urge everyone to visit the VicGrid site and read about the Victorian Transmission Plan and provide feedback or a submission.
There is a lot of information to go through, but this is vitally important.
Without input from the community VicGrid can only assume that we are OK with whatever development may be proposed.
